· If you wish to buy words, you must first contact me at a “story-specific” address

Million Word Story

Million Character Story

· Payment for words published is to be made in $US. Payment can be made into either my Paypal or bank account.

· People are placed in a queue ordered the same as the order they email me wishing to buy words. Once the person before you has decided on their words and payment has been received, you will be contacted

· Once you are contacted, it is your turn to become the author and decide the words you would like to publish on my website.

· Currently, the time that you will be given to compose your story contribution is negotiable between myself and you (the author of some words). Future time restrictions may be applied if this website takes off and a list of people is created awaiting their turn to contribute to a story.

· For ease, this is the order that events will occur:

1. You email me letting me know you wish to buy words (you can also let me know whether you wish to buy more than 1000 words/characters in this email, but it is not necessary, as you will be given the opportunity to let me know at stage 4).

2. You will be placed in a queue by myself

3. You will be contacted by myself , letting you know when it is your time to write

4. You compose your entry and then supply me with your words, color, the internet site that you wish to link to, and submit payment (don’t forget a tip/phrase you would like to appear when the mouse hovers over your link)

5. Once payment is received, I will upload to either the Million Word Story, or Million Character Story your: words, color, and create a hyperlink to your chosen site. You will also be listed on my website in a list of all contributors (this list will also contain hyperlinks, and will be ordered from top-to-bottom by most-to-least words/characters purchased )

· The words you choose must follow these simple rules:

· They must flow to make sense, both within your own entry, and also in relation to the entry before you. This rule is simply making sure that the stories progress to be readable from one person to the next. This rule does not stop you from turning the story on a huge tangent……...that is your decision!

· Words cannot be unnecessarily crude or vulgar just to gain the public’s attention. As “swear-words” or “rude-words” will be allowed in the stories when appropriate, this rule is a bit hard to define. As such, each person’s entry will be assessed individually. As a guide, there is a lot of freedom in what you can write, but it cannot be inappropriately crass just to get the reader’s attention. I’m sure that most of you won’t even need to consider this condition

· Words cannot be offensive or defamatory to another person. This means you cannot write words which are negative towards fellow competitors in your field. As with the previous condition, there will be a little lee-way in what will be allowed, and again this will be assessed on an individual basis

· You cannot put your website address (or any website address) within the words you contribute to a story. I do not want these stories to become a diary of website addresses. I will not bend on this….you do not need to write your web address in the story anyway as there is a direct link to your website!

· The person who gets the last bit of each story………(gets to finish each story), must do so exactly. This is to ensure that the Million Word Story has exactly 1 million words, and the Million Character Story has exactly 1 million characters.

· People need to buy a MINIMUM of 50 words for the Million Words Story, and 50 characters for the Million Character Story

· When submitting an entry, spaces are not included in the count nor will they be charged to you. In the Million Word Story each word is charged at $US1………..hyphenated words count as two words. In the Million Character Story each character is charged at US$1. All characters are included in this count (! @ # $ % & * ( ) , . ? / : ; ” ’ { } = + _ - [ ]). If your words form to end a sentence, you must also include a full stop (.) in your entry.

· I am the owner of the content published on this website and have rights to publish it later if possible. Stories created here are copyright to myself, and reprinting and distribution of this material is illegal unless otherwise agreed upon. Please note, each contribution from different individuals is still allowed for later use by that individual. That is, you will still own your own work for your own personal uses, but not the combined story that is created from your participation.

· When you buy words from me, you do not own any part of this website, but rather the right to have your words published and a link made to your own website if desired. However, people who buy words will be entitled to royalties coming from the potential publishing of these stories.

· Publishing of the stories is dependant on the success of the website, and the future potential for doing so. It is not guaranteed that these stories will get published. It follows that it is not guaranteed that people will receive royalties. However, given publishing, the royalties people receive is a percentage of the total royalties achieved directly proportional to the amount each person has contributed to the total of each story.

· I will not receive any of the royalties from publishing these stories, unless the person eligible is not contactable or fails to respond to messages. I believe that the people who contribute to the stories, should get their royalties 100%. However, I will be the recipient of unclaimed royalties.

· People cannot change their words or links once they have been chosen and published on this website. The only case that this might happen is due to very strong reasons such as lawsuits etc.

· Links cannot be made to websites with offensive material. I will assess each link on an individual basis and I have the right to choose what I deem as appropriate. If you change the material on your website to something offensive after your link is initially made, I will cancel your link, but still retain the words you submitted. In this case, you will also forfeit your right to royalties from potential future publishing, and I will assume your share of these royalties.

· People who buy words from me, which are published on this site cannot get a refund.

· This site will be online for at least 5 years from it’s date of entry onto the world wide web.

· If you wish to have your link removed from the website in the future, this will be allowed. However, I will retain the words you originally submitted, and you will not get a refund. You will still retain your right to potential publishing royalties.

· Links can only be made to internet sites, and you must have the authority to link to that website.

· If you do not choose the color to surround your text initially, I will choose it and this is what will be published on this website. You cannot get this color changed at a later date.

· I will do my best to ensure that the site is always up and accessible. However, I am not responsible for any down-time that the site is not accessible, for any reason (eg. large volume of traffic, www is down, hackers)

· I reserve the right to refuse contributions from anybody at anytime for any reason. This should not happen very often as it is a story created by the public, however I reserve the right to have the final say as to who is allowed to contribute to my website.

· I will do my best to upload the links and contributions from people as soon as possible after I have received payment. However, I do not make any guarantees as to how fast this will occur. I would estimate it should take no longer than 24 hours, however people need to be patient as I might not be immediately close to a computer or the internet files I require to facilitate uploading changes. Please be patient on this….I will do my best to ensure it happens quickly, however, I make no claims to a time guarantee, and people who contribute words/characters to my website agree that they accept this condition and will not try to press charges because they believe I took “too long” to upload their entries.
